I’ve had the honour of working with Tearfund since 2011, in fact they were my very first client.

Since then I have created countless films and traveled the world to help their partners tell their stories to inform supporters and inspire them into action.

MARTHA’S STORY, Nigeria

I have never been impacted by someone’s story as much as I am by Martha’s who we met in Nigeria.

She fled her village with her young baby when the rest of her family were killed in a dispute over land. Martha and her son were left with nothing. Along with 6,000 others, they ended up at a makeshift camp in the city of Jos. As I listened to her painful story, I witnessed her incredible resilience and the inspirational spirit with which she was rebuilding their lives. It is something I have reflected on repeatedly over the last year.

So this film was made to share part of her story and demonstrate how Tearfund’s partner supported her during the months that followed this horrific event. The film was used as part of Tearfund’s Big Church Quiz where 554 churches and 25,931 people came together in communities across the country for a night of quizzing fun and raising money to help people like Martha.

Since 2018 this has raised over £675,000 for their incredible work!

Aaron is all round excellence: he’s a fantastic storyteller, is innovative with his creations, and is a joy to work with. It feels like the best kind of collaboration, working with someone who truly understands what you’re looking for. I would highly recommend!Charlotte Wyatt, Marketing Project Manager

MORE FILMS FROM THE TEARFUND ARCHIVES

LESS IS MORE

Tearfund screened this film in churches across the UK as part of their ‘Less is More’ campaign to help communicate the impact that supporter contributions are having in places like Nigeria.

THE RESTORATION STORY

By using retro tv’s as props in the interview scenes of this film, we were able to help Tearfund’s Advocacy team merge UK supporters stories with global voices. This concept also gave the film a strong visual identity and acted as a device to bring all the elements together.

RISE AGAIN

It was great to get the creative juices flowing and create a video to advertise and generate excitement for the event ‘Rise Again’. The brief was to create something energetic, attention grabbing and informative for a millennial target audience.

AYA’S STORY, Iraq

I made this short film for Tearfund after a trip to Iraq in 2019 where I met Aya.  Her family were so kind and hospitable as she shared how their home had been destroyed by the conflict but how hope is rising from the rubble.

RENEW OUR WORLD

We developed the concept, directed, filmed and edited this promotional film for Tearfund as they partnered with the Renew Our World campaign. Our young presenters Joel and Ayenza absolutely smashed it!

TEARFUND GO

This short film was created for the Global Volunteering Team in Malawi to give a glimpse at what an overseas placement might look like and encourage more people to sign up.

CAKE, BAKE & FAITH

The purpose of the short film was to help Will communicate how people are lifting themselves out of poverty through Self Help groups in Ethiopia. The film was used at the ‘Cake, Bake and Faith’ events he hosted with Martha Collison in churches across the UK.

NO CHILD TAKEN

I traveled with Pete Greig and his sons to a Tearfund partner in Cambodia as they discovered the horror of human trafficking but also the amazing work being done to protect vulnerable children. This film was initially commissioned for display at the Big Church Day Out festival.

CLIMATE RALLY

Highlight coverage from Climate Marches in London, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast campaigning for a better future for everyone. Tearfund joined with other organisations in making the presence felt across the UK in advance of the climate Summit in Paris in December 2015.
