The brief was to tell the story of how Rehena*, at just 14 years old, was trafficked to India to work in a red-light area. But now, she uses her experience to help other modern slavery survivors. We made three additional films to help launch the Champion Survivors campaign for Justice & Care. It was a real privilege to spend a few days with her and the fantastic team in Bangladesh.

Ruby's Story

This is the second film I made for Justice and Care‘s Champion Survivors campaign. After being rescued from exploitation, Ruby* faced harassment in her community and lost her hope all over again. Sadly, it is not unusual for modern slavery survivors to face stigma when they return to their communities. But against all odds, Ruby courageously rebuilt her life and reclaimed her future. She is now one of our Champion Survivors in Bangladesh who fights to combat stigma and helps other survivors with their recoveries. *name changed to protect identity

'Aaron can bring a brief to life through innovative and compelling content - engaging audiences in a subject that is especially difficult to watch. His films have supported us greatly in our fundraising, and most importantly, tell the story of hope in the fight against modern slavery. '
